The 24th annual Greek Festival of Sydney will launch with a day long celebration at Darling Harbour on the 26th of March, so bring your family, bring your appetite and bring your dancing shoes for a day of art, music, fine food and Greek festivities. Boasting high quality international and home grown talent, the foreshores of Darling Harbour will come alive to the sounds of fabulous Greek music, the aromas of sumptuous Greek food, dazzling displays of Greek dancing, and other amazing surprises. Headlining this year is Greece ’s very own Zik Zak alongside Klonaridis in a one off performance not to be missed, performing live free of charge at 6pm. This event will go on into the night and will be the perfect way to celebrate multicultural Australia and the beauty of Greek culture through the arts, history, entertainment and food. Brought to you by UBI World Television, The Darling Harbour celebration will kick off the month long Greek Festival of Sydney, with over 31 events scheduled on this year’s program. Welcome to Australia’s leading Multicultural Festival, where everyone is invited to celebrate and explore culture.

25th March is a day of Celebration, commemorating Greece’s historic struggle for national independence in the 1800’s. There will be a procession led by students of the Greek Orthodox Community Afternoon & Saturday Schools and culminating in a wreath laying ceremony, poetry readings and traditional dancing. Parade commences 11am from Pyrmont Bridge (south side) and ends at Tumbalong Park. |

A fun day full of non-stop entertainment featuring live music and from some of Sydney’s finest Greek-Australian musicians. Australia ’s best Greek dancing displays and workshops complimented by some of the most sumptuous Greek food in the Southern Hemisphere! There will also be street performers, arts and crafts stalls, sports activities and the chance to win prizes in some hilarious competitions. Closing the night in true Greek style, we are happy to announce the return of DJ Krazy Kon! A huge supporter of the GFoS, Kon has achieved more in the Greek music industry than any other artist in Australia. With a new CD out in April, Krazy Kon will play us out with the sounds of Greece. |

Oyster Shucking demonstrations at Nick ’s Seafood Restaurant, Cockle Bay and Nick ’s Bar and Grill, King Street Wharf will again be on offer. Both restaurants have a visual display area where visitors can view the art and skill of Oyster Shucking. A free event for the whole family.
