The Greek Orthodox Community of NSW is the oldest migrant organisation in Australia — founded by generations who believed culture, language and community should continue to thrive far from home.
A school opens at Holy Trinity
In 1928, the Community opened its first Greek Afternoon School at Holy Trinity Church, with teacher Miss Evanthea Vergou. By 1930, more than 200 students were learning Greek at St Sophia Hall.

Greek for everyone

The cognitive benefits of a second language are real, memory, critical thinking, academic performance, but the reason people stay is the community.
STUDENTS (K–12)
Preschool, primary and high school students across five campuses. Afternoon classes during the week and Saturday school for senior years.
ADULTS
Beginners, intermediate and advanced. Weekly classes for new learners, returning speakers, and anyone wanting to deepen their Greek.

After a family submits the enrolment form, a member of the GOC Education team will be in touch to confirm placement and next steps
High school students (Y7–12)
High school classes run Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings at Clemton Park, preparing students for HSC Modern Greek.
Traditional and Modern Greek dancing
As part of the holistic educational experience, students are offered complimentary Greek Traditional and Modern Dancing, delivered by Mrs Parula Thurban and her team.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 5:30pm – 6:00pm
Saturday Juniors: 11:30am – 12:15pm
Saturday Seniors: 12:15pm – 1:00pm
Greek Community Club
Wednesday Juniors: 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Wednesday Seniors: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
School Uniform
The GOC uniform reflects a sense of identity, pride and belonging within the school community.
Students are required to wear the uniform when representing the school at official events, excursions and activities.
All Students attending Saturday classes are required to wear the GOC school uniform when attending classes.
Hat and polo shirt available as an introductory $45 package.

Paying your fees
How to pay
Fees are payable on enrolment, or before the first day of classes. Include the family surname, student name and campus in the payment reference. Example: Kapsi Maria – Clemton Park PS.
A receipt will be issued by the GOC Education team once payment is received.

Enrolment conditions

Enrolment is undertaken with the expectation of a full-year commitment.

Term 1 fees are non-refundable.

Written notice is required for withdrawal.

Refunds after Term 1 are considered on a pro rata basis at GOC's discretion.

Outstanding fees may affect reporting and continued enrolment.

Administrative costs may apply to overdue accounts.
Holiday programs
Short, immersive programs run during school holidays. Recent programs have included summer camps at Campsie with cultural workshops and Greek language activities.
