NEFELI FASOULI – ATHENS AFTER DARK

This November, Greek Fringe, with the generous support of the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW, presents the Australian debut of Nefeli Fasouli - one of the defining voices of contemporary Athens.
Greek Fringe is an independent Australian arts initiative dedicated to unveiling contemporary Greek artists and sounds that are too rarely afforded a stage in Australia - connecting a new generation of Greek creativity with audiences both within and beyond the Greek community.
And right now, Athens is producing some extraordinary music.
Drawing on laïkó and Eastern Mediterranean traditions while moving through psychedelia, nu-soul, jazz and contemporary global sounds, Nefeli Fasouli represents a generation of artists who honour Greek musical tradition without preserving it behind glass.
A Fulbright scholar who studied jazz in New York, Nefeli has performed alongside some of Greece’s most celebrated artists, including Fivos Delivorias, Dimitris Bassis and the legendary Maria Farantouri. This November, she brings that world to Australia for the first time.
This isn’t a traditional seated Greek concert. Expect an intimate standing-room show, dancing, DJs and the feeling of stepping into contemporary Athens after dark.
Athens is a vibe. Nefeli Fasouli is its ambassador.
This November, let her take you there.
